A removable top mattress floats over a 28 cm hand-built core — twenty-two named layers in total, from coffee-check cotton ticking through 3 kg of black horsehair to nested mini bread-loaf springs and a full calico pocket unit. Closed with hand through-tufting and two rows of 10 cm hand side-stitching.
