KÖPINGTOWN mattresses are layered with black horsehair, Australian wool, pure cotton and jute felt over calico pocket springs — then closed with hand-tufting and two rows of hand side-stitching. No glue-sprayed foam blocks. No shortcuts.

Jade Sky
A single-tier mattress built on a full calico pocket spring unit, layered with soy fibre, black horsehair and wool-cotton blend, hand-tufted in a 5×5 diamond.

A lower-profile build for platform bases and Japanese-style interiors: mini bread-loaf springs over a 7 cm jute platform, finished with pure cotton tufting.

Eleven artisans. One mattress. Sixty hours.
Horsehair is teased by hand so it stays springy for decades. Tufts are pulled clean through the mattress and tied by hand. Side walls are stitched row by row — the stitch you can run a finger along is the one a machine cannot fake.

Materials
Nothing inside that we cannot name
Black horsehair
18–21 cm tail hair, washed and teased by hand. It acts as a natural spring and keeps the bed cool and dry.
Wool & camel hair
Australian wool, wool-cotton blends and camel down regulate temperature through every season.
Calico pocket springs
Individually sewn fabric pockets, from nested mini-springs to full-depth units — the traditional European way.
Assurance
Tested, documented, traceable
Every construction is supported by independent third-party laboratory reports (SGS) covering materials and emissions. Buyers receive the report set with every quotation, and each bed carries its model identification and batch traceability.
